PROFESSIONAL FOCUS
Over 25 years of experience in Organization and Workforce Development with an emphasis on strategic planning, team building, quality management and process improvement, leadership development, and project management.
Developed and conducted results-oriented seminars for executives, leaders, team members, and front-line employees tailored for specific companies and industries. Recognized as an expert facilitator and thought partner skilled at executive coaching, business process redesign, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking.
Client companies include manufacturing and medical organizations; banking, finance, and educational institutions; governmental agencies; and the retail industry. Also, have provided consulting services to clients on an international level in Brazil, Europe, Canada, and Venezuela.
PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Facilitated/led strategic planning sessions for executive teams incorporating best practices such as Balanced Scorecard techniques. Deliverables included a five-year strategic plan with a one-year action plan including metrics, objectives, and tactics.
Developed a deployment process to communicate strategy to all employees in the organization and to align their daily tasks with the company strategy. Consulted with the companies to support quarterly reviews and updates to the plan throughout the year to ensure measurable results.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Developed and facilitated leadership development programs with content focusing on: The Role of the Leader, Setting Direction, Aligning People, Motivating and Inspiring, Leading Teams, Communicating, Building Relationships, Negotiating, and Leading Change. In many cases provided one-on-one executive coaching for advanced-level focus on these topics with immediate application to their companies.
TEAM BUILDING/TRAINING
Developed, facilitated, and managed a 40-hour, 20-module team training curriculum including the following topics: chartering a team, establishing team norms, team roles, team development, decision making, goal setting, benchmarking, problem solving tools, conflict resolution, and work styles. Developed and implemented a team recognition process that was noted as a benchmark by this International company. Worked with union leaders and company executives to implement a high performance work system in the factory, and established multi-level joint steering committees to support the teaming efforts.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT/CONTINUOUS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Served as lead facilitator/instructor for a Quality “Boot Camp” which was two-days in length and attended by all executives, managers, and team members of a Fortune 500 Company; then assisted leaders in establishing and coaching teams to address key business issues.
Trained 30 in-house facilitators to support quality teams in improving team processes and solving problems. Facilitated several executive teams using re-engineering and quality function deployment (QFD) principles including a Requirements Capture Team, a Business Development Team, and an Information Technology Team. All resulted in major organization-wide process and technology innovations.
Developed and conducted on an on-going basis quality programs for clients that focus on instituting a quality culture; tools and techniques for quality planning, quality assurance, and quality control; and a method for process improvement and business process redesign.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Developed and conducted a training program on Project Management Fundamentals focused on the project life cycle, and tools and techniques for each phase.
Using experiential exercises and case studies, the training emphasized application back on the job to participants’ projects. This training has been conducted for companies in advertising, engineering, manufacturing, banking, and sales.
