The Critical Position Analysis-Job Guide and Assessment Process
Consultant: Bill Swim
What is the most critical position in your organization and what is being done to ensure its continued success? Our Trade Marked Critical Position Analysis Process works with a panel from the targeted position and a leadership group to verify the requirements for critical position success.
We determine the right knowledge, skills, tasks and attitudes necessary for outstanding performance. From this input we produce a Critical Position Job Guide. From the Guide a critical position assessment tool is developed. Current and future members of the position are assessed.
The results provide individual and group training plans. The data helps with: benchmarking, position redesign, training, hiring guidelines, and performance plans to close the gap between current and desired competency levels within the critical position.
Critical position members often do not receive the attention they need to continually perform at an elevated level. Job guides provide verified information about the work, worker and workplace, all data necessary for planned performance improvement.
Length of intervention: Ranges from 1 to 2 months per guide and number of critical
position members.
Employment Projection Assessment-Applied Research
Consultant: Bill Swim
Industry estimates of their future hiring needs by occupational group and position have great value. Occupational information of this nature is commonly requested by Community Colleges and local Chambers of Commerce in order to plan new programs and community-based skilled worker recruitment efforts.
Employment projection research takes many forms yet the common denominator is to better understand a community’s future workforce and its associated needs. Information regarding employment projections allows for sound educational development decisions and helps industry partner together for the improved recruitment and retention of desired workers. In addition, the data guides community planning to better accommodate emerging demographic trends.
Length of project: 2-3 months.
